V E R N I S S A G E – 29th January 2010

It’s time to merge the fields of art and music one more time. Therefore, some artists will present their final projects for their art teacher studies. The musical surrounding will be presented from elbklang. This opening will take place at a wonderful location called “Projektzentrum für zeitgenössische Künste” that means “Project Centre for Contemporary Art”. So I think there is nothing more to say, because that will be the topic of that evening. Don’t miss to be there.

Guest Mix from #npnk for themoroders.com

Our elbklang artist #npnk arranged a very magic “christmas” mix for the website of our mates The Moroders. It’s a brilliant mixture of raw and spacy sounds, which is described by #npnk in the following words (transcription from German):

The name of the mix is “Floating in a Lagrange-Point around Uranus”. The libration or Lagrangian points are named after the Italian-French mathematician Jospeh-Louis Lagrange. In the celestial mechanics they are the stationary solutions of the circular restricted three-body problem. The gravitational fields of two massive bodies combined with the centrifugal force are in balance at the Lagrangian points, allowing the third body to be stationary with respect to the first two bodies.

One drifts load-free around in the space without knowing it.

Such a feeling I had while compiling this mix. I would like to do something different than another Happy-House–Disco-Club-Dance-Set. This mix is something for hiding onself away at home and enjoying the winter days into a warm bed.

He is a bit dark with some lighter moments.

So have phun while listening to this awesome mix!

A small Christmas present

Hi everyone,

today I prepared a small Christmas present for you ;) I processed a mix from Bob Ferris for Mixcloud with a playlist. It’s a very energetic mixture of often raw and powerful sounds in the broad range of House and Techno of approximately the last 20 years. This mix was arranged in the year 2007 and associated to a past party series Tunesday at club Bärenzwinger, Dresden, Germany. So please enjoy it while listening to the beauty of sound and keep on rockin.

New mixes to start dancing …

Hi everyone,

here are some very nice mixes from serveral elbklang artists. Please, feel free to listening to them to get an impression of the variety of sound, which we can present (as you may have noticed that’s not a full representation of our definition of good music).

The first mix is from our busy man #npnk who just started his own business with a booking agency (welike-booking). It’s a live recording from a very crazy halloween party at our favorite club in town and has a really incredible mystic mood inside (just watch the photographies on Flickr). The music is a mixture of 80s Sound, Elektro, Acid and Techno.

The second mix is from our man away in Hamburg emrox with a lot of raw Acid House sounds. It’s also a live recording from USB camp 2009 at Nature One festival. As a bonus I’m also proud to present a new track from emrox after a very, very long time. It’s cool Chicago House tune with a very strong baseline.

And last but least, is another mix from Bob Ferris. This mix is a bit older. It is a fast-forward, strongly danceable mixture of US House, Funk House, Deep House and New York House. So please enjoy it and if you like you can also start dancing.
